The National Museum of Wildlife Art has the largest collection of wildlife paintings, sculptures and other works in the country. If you love wildlife and wildlife art, this museum is a must see. While the museum was once located in Jackson Hole’s Town Square, it has since outgrown that facility and was moved into a brand new 51,000 sq foot facility. The new top of the line facility enables the National Museum of Wildlife Art to have much larger exhibits and educational programs. Their permanent exhibits contain over 5,000 paintings, sculptures and other works from over 100 different artists. Artists in this permanent collection range from modern artists all the way back to early Native American tribes.
The Lodge at Jackson Hole has had many guests comment on the incredible amount of 19th and 20th century items depicting the expansion of the American West. The National Museum of Wildlife Art has a rather large collection of these items and is very proud of them.
The Sculpture Trail is another favorite of Lodge at Jackson Hole guests. This 3/4 mile long trail showcases various monumental pieces and there are plans to add more. The trail is open to the public and has special displays during museum hours. Visitors may see yoga, theater, live music and other events happening on the trail daily.
